2022 Ford F-150 Lightning: powered by electricity, this truck is just as tough and capable as its gas-powered siblings in the F-Series.

What are the Benefits of Driving a Ford All-Electric Model?

Zero Emissions

Thanks to their lack of gas, all-electric vehicles are as easy on the environment as they are on your wallet. Future-focused, EVs are a sustainable solution that don’t produce any emissions as you drive. Don’t like pumping gas? No problem. Plus, charging is accessible, thanks to the BlueOval™ Charge Network — the largest public charging network in North America1 — which you’ll have access to as a Ford owner.

Tax Incentives

Department of Energy. These tax credits can help your bottom line when buying an electric vehicle! To learn more about what your state offers, visit the Alternative Fuels Data Center.

Long-Term Savings

The savings with electric vehicles are immense. You don’t have to buy gas, and the maintenance for your Ford EV is not the same as a gas model. Your electric model doesn’t need the services on engine parts like oil changes, engine belt replacements, transmission fluid flushes and more, so you can spend less at your service appointments and have more time for fun in your vehicle.

Ford All-Electric FAQs

Demand from customers as well as the benefits of going electric inspired Ford to begin putting money and other resources into EV production. In the words of Jim Farley, Ford president and CEO, “We are moving now to deliver breakthrough electric vehicles for the many rather than the few. It’s about creating good jobs that support American families, an ultra-efficient, carbon-neutral manufacturing system, and a growing business that delivers value for communities, dealers and shareholders.”

It all comes down to the vehicle you buy. Some models with gas engines are similarly priced to their electric counterparts. It’s important to remember that electric models will save you money in the grand scheme of things — electric models offer less in operating costs, and you’ll also be saving the money you used to spend on gas!

Believe it or not, many electric models are able to compete with the towing and horsepower capabilities of their gasoline-powered rivals. For reference, the available extended-range battery on the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is targeted to reach 563 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque.2 The truck also provides a top conventional towing capacity of 10,000 pounds.3 The 2022 Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition can even go from zero to 60 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds and can reach 480 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque.4

Charging is simple. It’s the same concept as charging your cell phone. Every Ford EV model comes standard with a 30-amp Ford Mobile Power Cord, allowing you to charge from either a 120V or a 240V outlet. There are other choices for quicker charging, including a charging wall box in your garage that can be installed by a licensed electrician. If you’re out and about, you can simply stop at a public charging station or any charging spot in the BlueOval™ Charge Network.

Charging times differ based on the kind of charging equipment used, outdoor temperatures, battery temperatures, battery condition and vehicle condition. You can look on the Ford website for more detailed technical information on charging times for Ford EVs.

Yes! Warranties vary between vehicles and can include benefits like Electric Vehicle Component Coverage and Roadside Assistance. Contact us for more details on each vehicle’s warranty.
