Below we’ve listed the top three most fuel-efficient 2021 Ford models that you’ll discover in our inventory, and each model uses the EcoBoost® engines for their power. How are Ford models so efficient?

Wondering how the EcoBoost® engine generates its efficient power? There are three coordinating functions of EcoBoost® technology: turbocharging, direct fuel injection and variable camshaft timing. Under the hood of your Ford, the turbocharger in the EcoBoost® engine uses the force of excess exhaust to push more air into the engine for more power — energy that would have been otherwise wasted in a conventional engine. Due to the lightweight design of the turbocharger, the precise measurement of fuel entering the engine at any given time and the control of the intake and exhaust valves to match engine speed and load, the EcoBoost® engine has fuel efficiency down to a science.

Ford Hybrid Lineup

What about hybrid power? Don’t worry — for many manufacturers, there aren’t just gas-powered options anymore. Ford has been busy innovating its current hybrid lineup and creating new models to join the team. Once only available for an additional charge (like the F-150) or on various trims (like the Escape SE Hybrid, Escape SE Plug-In Hybrid, Explorer Limited), hybrid technology is making its way into new vehicles as standard. The 2022 Ford Maverick, a compact pickup, comes with a standard hybrid engine. The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E is an all-electric sports car, while the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is the all-electric F-150 we’ve all been waiting for. Which hybrid or all-electric Ford will you choose this year?
